Do you think Regulus enjoyed it? 🧼💙🐾 Regulus is a 1.8-year-old, 121-pound Cane Corso x Neapolitan mastiff mix looking for a forever home to call his own. He’s a total sweetheart with a heart of gold. He still has plenty of playful puppy energy and gets the zoomies often, but his favorite thing in the world? Spending time with you. Regulus is extremely smart and thrives on training. He’s fully obedience trained, attends Rally classes, and shines with structure and purpose. This boy is highly food and toy motivated, with zero stubbornness, making him an absolute dream for anyone who enjoys working with dogs. His eagerness to learn and please makes training him fun and rewarding. Although Regulus is neutral and well-mannered in public, he’s naturally wary of strangers, true to his mastiff roots. He bonds deeply with his people and will thrive in a home that respects his boundaries and helps him build trust at his pace. When Regulus first came to us, he showed signs of resource guarding food. He’s made tremendous progress with consistent work, but he’ll need a mastiff or power-breed savvy home with prior experience managing resource guarding and separate feeding. Regulus cannot live with cats, small animals, or small dogs under 45 pounds unless they are fully separated. He’s also not a fit for homes with children. But in the right environment, he will be the most loyal, loving, and devoted companion you could ask for. He is crate trained, X-pen trained, house trained, neutered, and vaccinated. Heaven has gained our angel, Shakira 🕊️💔 Shakira was as fierce as she was loving, and she fought so hard these past few months to stay with us for as long as she could. We tried everything we could, but her cancer was incredibly aggressive and eventually spread to her bone marrow, making it impossible for her to create red blood cells. She gained her wings peacefully, in her favorite spot, basking in the sun at home, knowing just how deeply she was loved. Our hearts and souls are completely broken. We’ve lost one of our best friends, a member of our family, and it still doesn’t feel real. Shakira grew up with us. She was always by our sides through high school, college, and beyond. She was the best big sister to every sibling and foster who came through our home. We’re not the only ones grieving. Our pack said goodbye too, and those closest to her have been mourning her loss just as deeply. We’ve been doing our best to hold it together for them, to make sure each of them feels how deeply they’re loved. Words can’t express how much we appreciate every one of you who has reached out these past months with advice, encouragement, love, and support. Just checking in on her and on us meant more than we can ever say. We want to thank Dr. Townsend, Dr. Snowden, Dr. Freeman, and the entire vet team for giving us more time with our girl and doing everything you could to try and save her. 🙏 We’re so incredibly grateful for the extra months we had together, to take her to her favorite spots, create more beautiful memories, and show her every single day just how truly cherished she was. To our sweet Shakira darling: We still can’t fathom not seeing you walk through the door to check on us. You were our shadow, our constant companion, our heart. Life feels incomplete without you. You were everything to us, always the best girl to the very end. You knew we did everything we could to save you, our love. This isn’t goodbye. One day we’ll be together again, where there’s no more cancer, no more pain, and you can dig as many holes as you want, swim all day, and be surrounded by all the sticks your heart desires. We love you forever, sweet girl. We can’t wait to see you again ❤️
