The first step to Ollie is to be comfortable on your board. I feel like most people skip over the basics and jump straight to Ollie’s and Kick Flips. But this is the foundation and it’s also where clean consistent tricks are really built. Learn to skate and balance first and then work on your ollie’s. One of the easiest tricks you can learn! This is my step by step guide on how to Shuv-It (No Pop). You can definitely learn this before the ollie and its one of the first tricks many of us skaters learn. Someday it will become a staple in your trick selection if you master it. Just don’t give up and you got it. It’s hard at first but it gets easier. Someday it’ll become natural. 🌊

Kick flips too hard? Try these instead! Here’s 6 flip tricks I would try if I was just getting started. These won’t replace an ollie or a kick flip, but it will help you build the confidence to land one in the future. I feel like most people would quit because they can’t land any cool tricks. This is one of the easiest tricks to learn after the Ollie. Here’s my step by step guide on how to Frontside 180. This trick is a fun one once you figure it out. You can cheat most 180 tricks by just pivoting most of the way. Once you get the hang of it, you can add a lil more pop to it to make them smoother and higher. Give this a try next time you’re out skating. You got this! 🌊

These are the best wheels imo. I’ve had brands reach out to me and offer me my own wheel formula but I turned them down because there’s no skate wheels that are better than these right here honestly. I’ve skated all different types of Spitfires and they always hit. Nice wheels are a bit expensive but they are worth it. If you’re thinking about it, just do it. You won’t regret it. Sad day for the skate community :( It sucks to see the city tear down this skate park. I would come here every week for the past couple years and watched the whole thing grow. This trick is actually easier than Kick Flips! Here’s my step by step guide on how to Varial Kick Flip. It’s one of the first flip tricks that I ever learned and it has always stuck with me. You don’t need to know how to kick flip to learn this one. If you haven’t already, you should just try it. Don’t give up! You got this! 🌊

This is one of my favorite tricks ever. Here’s my step by step tutorial on Backside 180s! A lot of people say this is the harder rotation of 180s, but for me it’s a whole lot easier. It just depends on which way you’re comfortable turning your body. Hopefully these tips help you learn how to Backside 180. They’re really not as hard as you think. Keep practicing and don’t give up!
