This definitely nominates me for the "Dog Mom AF" award! We are heading to Orlando on Sunday to go to @Global Pet Expo in Orlando 🌴 so will have a full day of flying to get there. Seriously tho, Waffles had flown in cabin a few times without issue, but it has been over a year. So along with getting him familar/comfortable with his bag I took him up to the airport for a few hours to practice getting in/out of the bag and just rolling around in the bag seeing all the sights and sounds. Honestly, he had some anxiety when we first got there, nothing obvious to anyone, but I could tell. So I spent sometime just sitting there with him in the bag giving him treats and letting him settle. All in all I don't regret doing it, even though I parked in the wrong parking area and it cost me $50 🤪 I also took the opportunity to ask some of the Air Canada folks if they thought he fit his bag. You hear so many stories of dogs being denied. All 3 of them all said that yes he was fine. You always hear stories of dogs being denied, but then they post pictures and their dog is literally stuffed in the bag like a sausage. But they did remind me he is my "carry on" and I am only allowed a personal item. Which frankly is dumb. He goes under the seat where a personal item would go, so you are telling me that I can't use the bin space above the seat for a carry on like I would if he wasn't with me..... but I digress. They've always let me through with my tiny roller bag, but if I get a stickler I may have to carry the bag with him in it thru the airport. But I have a plan for that I will post about soon.
