Replying to @mummaJodes 🎥✨ Ever wonder what happens between capturing a moment and delivering a stunning photo? Someone mentioned that “all my photos are edited,” and here’s the truth: THEY ARE… but let me explain what that actually means. Every photo you see from Lauren Ashley Studios is processed through Lightroom, a professional editing software, to ensure consistent quality and to bring my creative vision to life. When you hire a photographer, you’re not just getting someone to press a button. You’re hiring a storyteller with a vision to highlight the best of every scene. Editing isn’t about changing reality… it’s about refining it. Enhancements like balancing light, adjusting tones, and drawing focus to the most important elements bring the image to life the way we envisioned it during the shoot. There are four different stages of viewing an image, each offering a unique perspective: 1. In-camera: This is the jpg unaltered capture of the moment, reflecting what the camera sensor sees without any adjustments or enhancements. 2. RAW file: The digital negative, containing all the data captured by the camera. It’s unprocessed, flat, and requires editing to bring out its full potential. 3. Lightroom edit: This is where basic enhancements are made, such as adjusting exposure, color, and contrast to create a cohesive and stylized look across the gallery. 4. Photoshop retouch: The final step, where detailed adjustments are applied, like removing distractions, perfecting skin tones, or creatively altering elements to match the vision. Bottom line: It’s not about making photos “fake”..it’s about delivering the vision and quality you deserve. 📸✨ Have questions about the editing process or curious about the difference between RAW and final images? Famous dancers @Tyler Schwartz & @maddieraeru truly danced their way into married life…literally! 💍✨ Their unforgettable first dance at the stunning Elkins Estate combined the artistry of Irish dance and tap, leaving everyone absolutely mesmerized. 💃🕺 Watching them move together, with such passion and precision, was a privilege as thier wedding photographer, I’ll never forget. Their love is as pure and magical as their steps! ☘️✨ Photographer challenge of the day? That exit sign! 🚨 (Yes, it’s required by law to stay visible!) But with 4-point lighting—three @Godox Official AD100s with grids and an AD200 with a softbox camera left.. I worked some magic to create that rim light glow behind them. 📸✨ Huge shoutout to the amazing team that made this moment unforgettable: 🎥 Video: @parosfilms 🎨 Wedding Design: @shannonwellingtonweddings 👗 Costume: @destefanodesigns 🏰 Venue: @elkinsestate 🎶 Band: @eadaoinofficial@mohsenamini@charliegalloway #IrishDance #TapDance #Wedding #FirstDance #DancersOfInstagram #WeddingDance #elkinsestateweddings
At the start of the previous year, I set a pretty modest goal: book one destination wedding in another country. Just one. Fast forward to now, and somehow we ended up with 17 destination weddings out of the 50 we photographed this year! 😱 What really kickstarted it all? This 21-second reel of client reactions. It went viral and brought in over 230,000 followers, mind-blowing, right? The wildest part? I almost didn’t post it. I was being my usual perfectionist self, nitpicking every little thing. But I was reading The Tipping Point, and something in me said, “Just post the dang thing.” This tiny clip had me hired by a royal family, celebrities, and sent me jet-setting all over the world. Crazy how one small decision can snowball into something so big. Moral of the story? Stop overthinking and just hit post, you never know where it might take you! If you’ve made it this far and a future wedding client! Yes, I would love to photograph your weddings!
